I am a freelance journalist and investigative researcher currently based in Paris. I speak native English, decent Portuguese and French, and a smattering of German.
I was based in Brasília from May 2012 to November 2014, where I covered the energy industry for Platts and wrote about everything from elections and deforestation to the World Cup and prison conditions for various publications including The New York Times, the Independent, VICE News and GlobalPost. For my first year in Brazil I was also senior reporter at The Rio Times, the only English-language newspaper in the country.
Before Brazil, I worked at The Cambodia Daily in Phnom Penh for a year, and spent six months training with renowned investigative reporter Wayne Barrett at the Village Voice in New York City.
More recently I spent most of 2015 on Greenpeace's new investigative team, in London, where we worked to uncover stories that contributed to the debate over environmental protection and climate change.
